To be clear, all SIGG bottles made prior to August 2008 have the former
water-based epoxy liner which contains trace amounts of BPA. These bottles have been thoroughly tested and showed 0% leaching of BPA. It is easy to determine which liner you have, as they are 2 distinctly different colours.
Visit http://www.MySIGG.com/liner to see photos comparing the two.
SIGG took action back in 2006 to begin development of a high performance bottle
liner that is BPA free. In addition there is a special section on the SIGG website that will have regular updates on independent laboratory testing on SIGG and other bottle brands with the BPA situation as it begins to develop. http://www.MySIGG.com/bulletin

Carefully and Understand the Meanings:
Carefully and Understand the Meanings:
Nobody is perfect until you fall in love with them.
Love starts with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear.
Don't cry over anyone who won't cry over you.
What do you do when the only person who can make you stop crying is the person who made you cry?
If love isn't a game, why are there so many players?
Good friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget.
You can only go as far as you push!
Actions speak louder than words.
The hardest thing to do is watch the one you love, love somebody else.
Don't let the past hold you back, you're missing the good stuff.
Life's short. If you don't look around once in a while you might miss it.
A best friend is like a four leaf clover, hard to find and lucky to have.
Some people make the world special by just being in it.
Best friends are the siblings God forgot to give us. When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your best friend will be there.
True friendship never ends.
Friends are forever.
Good friends are like stars....you don't always see them, but you know they are always there.
Don't frown, you never know who is falling in love with your smile.
Everything is okay in the end. If it's not okay, then it's not the end.
Most people walk in and out of your life, but only friends leave footprints in your heart.
If u love something...let it go.
If it comes back to you its yours....
If it doesn't then it never was.
A kiss is just a kiss until u find the one you love. A hug is just a hug>until its from the one ur thinking of. A dream is just a dream until u make it come tru. LOVE is just a word until its proven 2 u.
Do you have a SIGG Bottle? If so, you may have the old liner. Until October.31.2009 you can bring your SIGG Bottle into our store and return it and get a new bottle of equal size. Our quantities are going fast. You may want to call first to ensure that we have bottles in stock for you. 604.879.9135

Photos of Store - Spring 2007

The summer is coming to an end. It has been a fabulous season for us. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous for months and we have been enjoying our hammock chairs hanging in front of our store.
We have a few new things for us this year in the world of technology. We have a Twitter Account which has trumped our Blog. It is just so easy to Twitter and it has been so much fun.
http://www.twitter.com/ulink
We also have a Facebook Fan Page.
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Vancouver-BC/Unity-Global-Concepts/17354006125
We are in the process of getting a new website up where you will be able to purchase items online. So keep your eyes open for this.

Since we opened our doors on November 3rd of 2006, I have been busy running this little store. It has been such a blast and I have so much gratitude for all of my amazing customers.
These girls are Michele, Sam & Emiko. Three of the sweetest most amazing girls ever!!! Emiko has moved to Japan and Michele is now in Montreal. But, Sammie is still here. And this store would not be running without all of her forward planning, detail management and friendly customer service. Thank you a million Sam!!!
We are now on Twitter, Facebook Fan Page, This Next and Style Hive. We are working to get online to sell our sweet little goods outside of Vancouver.
I now have a special little helper called Link. This is my 2.5 year old dog. He is half Mini Australian Shepard and half Pomeranian.
I will try to blog more.

On assignment with 24 Hours Vancouver, reporter Michael Schratter photographed Social Empire members, Carissa Reid, Johnathan Schooler, Geneva Hargreaves, and Unity Whittaker at sugarandsugar, February 11th, 2006, during the "A Taste of Valentine's" event, which was sponsored by the Social Empire and Urban Mixer. This photograph appeared in the February 13th, 2006 issue of the 24 Hours.

Oqoqo on Robson had their opening tonight. It was fantastic. A packed house!
They had a fashion show and the designer Cass got up to say a few words. Cass has an amazing eye and knows how to have fun with clothes. Skirts can be worn as strapless tops and tanks can be worn several ways.

Martha Graham
There is a vitality, a life-force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique and if you block it, it will never exist again through any medium and will be lost... the world will not have it.
It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable, nor how it compares with other expressions... it is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open."

Tonight was a busy evening. Oqoqo was having a celebration of the Fusion of Art, Music and Fashion. It was a melding of all things creative from visual art to music and break-dancing. They featured the works of a local talented, abstract artist called Charisse Baker. It was great to see the Oqoqo space and all of the amazing designs which they have now. The colours are great, and the styles are so much fun. I could definately go broke in there.
Tanya Morrow from the design team, Sarah Mullin, as well as, Becky Viminitz and Katie Lamb the managers were there. Everyone was looking great!
After my time at Oqoqo I went to the Red Room where Beats without Borders was having there monthly Thursday Evening. Tarun was playing the tabulas - it was a nice beat. Then Nils was up with some good world music, then some dancers, and the highlight of the evening was Adham Shaikh.
The place was packed. Lots of people dancing. It was fun.

Last night I went to an event at Sugar and Suagar in Gastown which was put on by Urban Mixer. It was billed as "Vancouver's Premiere Singles Event" - and it was definately this. I had a great evening. I enjoyed a complimentary martini by Grey Goose and the company of several interesting people.
I met Grant Doyle from the Social Insider of Calgary. As well as, Michael Schratter of On the Town for the daily newspaper 24 Hours. There was also Neil Pelman of Pelman Photography taking photos of the event.
Sugar and Sugar is an amazing venue. The art was fantastic, and the layout of the gallery is so much fun with stairs and verandas so it is easy to have a view of the room at different levels.
The music was beautiful soothing sounds from Lesismore in concert. Then later in the evening DJ Darren Butler played some dance songs.
And my favourite aspect of the evening was the chocolate fondue fountain where I got to dip huge strawberries into milky chocolate which was flowing from a freestanding fountain.... Yum! I felt like I was in the film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

February Newsletter
Hello
Unity Global Concepts is excited to announce our next location.
For the holiday of love and romance we will be at City Square Mall on the North West corner of Cambie and 12th Avenue in Vancouver. We will be setting up a kiosk from February 2nd until February 15th. You will find us on the lower level near the food court. View the attached flyer for details.
Don’t forget about our superb gift wrapping service. Our unique and detailed gift wrapping creates a wonderful and memorable experience. All gifts wrapping for purchases over $50 is complimentary; for items under $50 the service costs $3.
Our focus for this month is our Venetian and Murano Hearts Collection. These pieces are exclusive lamp beads which are made entirely by hand over a single flame. Many of the beads have an internal layer of 24k gold or sterling silver, which adds luminosity to the transparent colors. Each color must be layered one at a time while keeping the molten glass at a constant temperature, or the bead will crack.
We will also be featuring the work of a local designer called Sherry Haddow. Sherry won first place for best jewelry and accessories designer at Vancouver Fashion Week 2004. Her experiences have spurred a love for creating a look that is modern, exotic, and elegant. Sherry’s work captures interesting dichotomies as she experiments with urbanism and organic nature; movement, feeling, and texture; as well as, the unknown or fantastical. Sherry’s style is always distinctly unique with nuances from eras past and yet in tune with the latest trends in art and fashion.
Don’t forget about our Shakti line which celebrates organic form by offering jewelry that combines earthly wooden beads with semi-precious stones and shells. Materials are combined from remote regions around the world to symbolize unity and to help unite us with nature. Shakti prefers to keep each design unique and one of a kind.
We will also continue to carry expanders, ball/bar, coconut earrings and coconut rings from our organic Brazilian collection. As well as, we will also feature items from Inspired Eye Designs.
We welcome Celeste Makow to our team. Celeste is an apparel designer with a focus on outdoor sports and gear. She is interested in launching her own business based in Vancouver. She has a wonderful amount of enthusiasm and knowledge about fashion and accessories.
Unity Global Concepts would like to thank everyone for a successful Christmas season. We had a great time at Arbutus Shopping Centre. A special thanks to Susan Whittaker for being a presence at the table during this busy time.
We look forward to seeing you at City Square!

Valentine's Day Product Shots

live with intention. walk to the edge. listen hard. choose with no regret. laugh. do what you love.

There is a lot happening this week for Unity Global Concepts. We are busy preparing for our two week Valentine Focus at City Square Mall at 12th and Cambie. Today was a day of preparing procedures and creating educational notes for the staff and clients.
Tomorrow I meet with a web designer to begin planning the next step. I feel that huge growth is happening now, and it is exciting to be a part of this.
Last night I attended a Mary Kay seminar with about 500 women and 15 men. It was so exciting to be in a room with so much incredible enthusiasm and support. The words which describe Mary Kay to me are inclusive, encouraging, supportive, rewarding, inspiring, excited, curious, dollars & diamonds, motivation and self-empowerment.

Fantastic Day
Today was a fantastic day for Unity Global Concepts.

I recieved another shipment of the Venetian glass jewelry. It is so beautiful! Last night we had a photo shoot for Valentines Day. The photos are fantastic - very romantic! They are already updated on the website. www.unityglobalconcepts.com
Also, today, I was in the Metro - a free daily newspaper. The photo is great, and I got to talk about my fashion do's and dont's, fashion inspiration, and I got to plug my friends' designs and my own company.
And, today was also fantastic because it did not rain! Woo hoo.
Vitality
I met with a new graphic designer last night, Joni Rutsulka. She was fabulous with giving me direction in creating the image of my business. We are currently focussed on creating flyers for Valentines Day. Unity Global Concepts will be in City Square Mall for 2 weeks from February 1st to 15th.
Joni has put forth ideas to consider for the long term. We are narrowing down the ideas. There are so many ideas. It is time to focus on what specifically Unity Global Concepts is and what we will be in the future.
This morning I researched Gift Shows across Canada.
Today I will be looking at buying a plane ticket to Europe for April. I am going to Europe to source out designers who are not yet in Canada. I want to go to Sweden, Norway, Germany, Switzerland, Milan, Venice, Antwerp and Paris. Wow, so many places to visit. Ideally my trip will be 4-5 weeks.
Today we are also going to be buying merchandising and gift wrapping for Valentines. We do such a good job at gift wrapping, and it is exciting to be creating our image for February.
There will be a photoshoot tonight with the Venetian Glass line for Valentines Day. I am so excited we will be using chocolates and candles for an extra romantic feel - this is Joni's idea!
It is a full day. The theme for Unity Global Concepts this is vitality!
Being Hungry For
This week for Unity Global Concepts is about branding merchandising ideas and themes for Valentines Day, applying for gift shows and festivals for 2006, updating our website, inventory, budgeting and planning a trip to Europe.
We are hungry for 2006 and all of the new experiences and success which will happen this year.
Thanks for a Wonderful Time
This is an exciting time for Unity Global Concepts. Our first Christmas retail season was a huge success, and we are now preparing for our first Valentine's Day. The theme is Murano Glass Hearts. We are going to be located at City Square Shopping Center from February 2nd to 15th in a kiosk.
We do gift wrapping... in a way that creates a special and memorable experience for all of those ladies you love.
Our goal this year is to expand to a retail location in Vancouver. We would love to be in the South Granville area..... time will tell.
We would like to thank Susan Whittaker, Sheri Rose, Cynthia Bennett, Betty-Ann Bainbridge and Meera Bennett for all of your support to spread the word of Unity Global Concepts.
I was googling around the internet tonight. I came up with two links for Unity Global Concepts which I was previously unaware.
Here they are:
1. Girl Fabulous
"Claude and I set up at the Vancouver Folk Fest this year and had a great time selling and shopping at the "Black Market" outside the gates. I discovered some new importers with cool designs. SASS Felt - made in India. I bought the cutest felt briefcase. They also had these felt jester booties for kids and felt mary janes. The cool thing was the importer was working with the Association of Craft Producers - ACP. They provide design, technical services, management, marketing, skills training, source of income, benefits programs, education and supportive work enviroments conducive for self-esteem for disadvantaged craft producers, especially women. Love it! Call Jem Pullin from Calgary 403.609.2365 to find out more.
Sara Patterson from LOTUS had the really cutting edge designs made in Thailand. A little small for a size 16 like me ... she has sample sales, email her to get on her list for her next sale: lotusdesigns@ekit.com.
I kept seeing these A-MA-zing tattoo designs printed on sheer stretch fabric going by. WILD ROSE TATTO BODY WEAR gives you Tattoos with out the committment or the pain or $$$$! People were wearing them with a tank top. See www.wildrosetattooshirts.com to see what I mean. There was such a huge crowd at their booth that I could only get a card for next time.
There were lots of imported goods, some cheap and plastic stuff and some people were even having garage sales (Yuk!).
Another highlight was UNITY GLOBAL CONCEPTS. Someone with a good eye and aims to bring back fair trade goods. I got a ring carved out of bone that I will wear forever! See www.unityglobalconcepts.com
